The Library warmly welcomed students as the Academic Year 2025–2026 officially opened on August 11, 2025. The library, serving as the heart of the university’s learning resources, was filled with excitement as new and returning students explored its facilities, services, and updated collections.
The opening day marked the start of another year of learning, research, and discovery at the heart of the campus.
In a continuous effort to improve library operations, services, and facilities, the Capiz State University Library staff from different campuses conducted a benchmarking and library visit on July 16-17, 2025, to selected academic libraries: Aklan State University (ASU) Banga Library, University of Antique-Tario Lim Memorial Campus Library and Sibalum Campus Library, University of San Agustin (USA) Learning Resource Center, West Visayas State University (WVSU) University Learning Resource Center, and Central Philippine University (CPU) Henry Luce III Library.
During the visit, the CapSU library staff had the opportunity to observe innovative programs and technologies such as automated cataloging systems, digitization initiatives, community outreach projects, and user-centered library spaces. Discussions also covered collection development policies, circulation procedures, and strategies for increasing library usage among students and faculty.
The benchmarking activity is part of CapSU’s broader commitment to align its library services with national and global standards, ensuring that students and faculty members are supported with relevant, accessible, and innovative resources.

As the academic semester nears its end, the Capiz State University Library Pontevedra campus has reported a significant rise in reservations of its conference rooms, largely driven by graduating students preparing for their thesis presentations.
Many of them are using the room for their thesis defense, group consultations, and culminating activity. The library conference room and audiovisual room, equipped with a projector, smart television, and sound system, have become a key venue for students aiming to conduct professional and well-organized academic presentations.
To accommodate the high demand, the library has implemented a temporary conversion of a nearby reading area into a makeshift thesis presentation room.
